sab123So, they're writing all over the liberal media of how the aides of Gov. Christie allegedly screwed up the traffic from Fort Lee to the G.W. bridge on purpose. Obviously, they're scared of Christie as a presidential candidate, and are starting the smear campaign now. But there also are some things to keep in mind.
First, let's look at the details of the allegations: the alleged goal was to screw up the traffic and make it look like the Ft Lee mayor's fault, thus bringing down his reputation. Allegedly, in retaliation in the said mayor, a Democrat, not endorsing Christie for governor.
Think about it. Democrat. Why anyone would expect him to endorse Christie for governor? Basically, the stated reason doesn't fly at all. Even if all the allegations are true, there has to be some other reason that the accusers are to ashamed to state. (And the accused aren't happy to bring it up either). It obviously has to be some back-room deal on which the Ft Lee mayor collected his profit and then renegged. Does it say anything good about the Ft Lee mayor? Not exactly, to put it mildly.
Then, have you ever been to Fort Lee? I've been, and I can tell you that it's an incredible shithole, very much like NYC, Hoboken, Jersey City and such. If you think that there are any days out there without a traffic gridlock during the rush hours, you're seriously mistaken. Sure, a lane closure can make it worse but pretending that a lane closure would cause a gridlock is an outright lie. There just isn't any way to get through that dump without being stuck in traffic, so any stories of ambulances being delayed are bullshit. Sure, they might have been delayed a little more than usual but there just isn't any way for them to not be delayed at all.
The other funny part is about people talking about "how all these people lost their time". Remember, if the traffic flow from Fort Lee to GWB was reduced, it means that the traffic from all the other directions was flowing to GWB faster, in particular from the Turnpike. So for anyone spending more time in traffic, there would be ten other people who had spent less time in traffic.
And the most important part: even if everything is as alleged, it's still nothing compared to how Obama is persecuting his political opponents.

Date: 2014-01-12 02:18 am (UTC)Я узнал про эту историю вчера, но не смог найти ни одной статьи в которой объяснялась бы нормальным языком _вся_ фактическая сторона дела с предысторией. Я знаю только то что какие-то помощники Кристи закрыли какую-то полосу, от чего два раза какая-то скорая попала в пробку, и что Кристи помощников уволил когда узнал.
Что-нибудь еще произошло?

Date: 2014-01-13 02:52 am (UTC)Якобы, мэр этого Форт Ли не проэндорсил Кристи на выборах (с каких хренов он бы должен был его эндорсить - совершенно непонятно, он вообще от другой партии, разве что только в результате каких-то подковерных обещаний). За что якобы помощник Кристи попросил своего знакомого в дорожной администрации поужать выезд из Форт Ли к мосту с трех полос до одной под предолгом исследования различных паттернов трафика на пару недель. За что трудящиеся жаловались на мэра. Это, заметим, НЕ выезд вообще на мост, который идет тучей полос, и в-основном с турнпайка (большая платная дорога, так же известная как продолжение I-95). Это выезд из Форт Ли к Турнпайку на мост. Из-за чего на подъездах к этому выездув час пик возникли пробки, которые рапространились через весь Форт Ли. В которых якобы задержалась какая-то скорая. Заметим, что на мост скорой ехать совсем не надо.
